Serving Our Community

The following is a list of Service Teams focused on serving our community.  If you are interested in serving on one or more of these teams, please visit the Service Team Interest Form and let us know!

Christmas Missions

During the Christmas Season, the Christmas Missions team buys food which is taken to the Baptist Sharing House–a local ministry that helps families in Cabarrus County–where they prepare meals that will be given out. Providence is also a Operation Christmas Child relay center which collects OCC boxes and prepares them to be taken to the Samaritan’s Purse warehouse in Charlotte.

Fall Festival

This service team is responsible for coordinating our Halloween alternative. The Fall Festival is always held on October 31st from 6:00- 8:00pm. Volunteers will help with parking, greeting guests, preparing and serving food, facilitating games, setting up, tear down, and communicate with guests after the event.

Vacation Bible School

This service team is vital to our biggest evangelistic event of the year. Volunteers are needed to lead and assist in the areas of Bible study, drama, snacks, crafts, music and recreation. Training is provided for those new to VBS, which is typically held during the 3rd week in June from 6:00-8:30 pm. Even if you cannot be there each night, we would still love for you to get involved!

Bethlehem Village

Do you enjoy being a part of big events? The Journey Through Bethlehem is an annual Providence family Christmas tradition, and it’s one of the biggest events of the year. There are many areas to get involved including: actors, parking attendants, construction workers, tour guides, and refreshments.

Backpack Service Team

This team will assist in putting together backpack bags on the appropriate days and delivering them to schools in Harrisburg. This service team is active only during the school year, helping families and school children in our community.

Welcome To Harrisburg Team

If you love meeting new people, our Welcome to Harrisburg team distributes welcome bags to new members of the Harrisburg community. This is usually done two times each year.
