Serving at Providence
The following is a list of Service Teams which routinely work to serve our church family — members, regular attenders, and guests alike — during our regular worship services and routine events. If you are interested in serving on one or more of these teams, please visit the Service Team Interest Form and let us know!
The primary responsibilities of an usher include: helping people find a seat for service. Collecting the offering. Getting an accurate people count. Resetting and cleaning up the worship center.
Our Hostess Team helps host a variety of church fellowship events including our annual ice cream social, Bethlehem Village refreshments, Homecoming, decorating for Christmas, as well as other events throughout the year.
The Providence Worship Team is responsible for leading God's people to worship Him in spirit and in truth with authenticity, intimacy, passion, and expectancy through the use of the musical arts. If you are musically gifted, this may be the team for you. For more information about serving in a musical capacity at Providence, see the Music Ministry page of our website.
Our preschool area is a fast-growing ministry and is always in need of willing volunteers to help during our morning worship services. If you love preschool age children, this is your area of service!
Shine Children's Ministry Leaders/Teachers
Do you love children? Our Children’s ministry team is responsible for leading or assisting SHINE Children’s Grow Groups on Sunday mornings. Bible stories, object lessons, prayer time, and games are just some of the activities that occur during this time. A large-group worship experience is also conducted. Training and curriculum will be provided on a quarterly basis for individuals who will lead the classes. There are also ongoing needs for substitute teachers. This is a one hour per month commitment.
Children in Action
This service team will assist on Wednesday nights with the K-5th graders during their missions program. Responsibilities will include leading small groups, reading stories about missionaries, leading games, and facilitating scripture memorization. This is a one hour per week commitment.

This service team is vital to our preschool and children’s ministries. Individuals will be trained to use our KidCheck children’s check-In system which is used at all regularly scheduled preschool and children’s events. Some other responsibilities will include insuring that classroom equipment is in good working condition, patrolling the preschool and children’s areas during events, and reporting issues to the director.
This service team will assist the Camp Director with the marketing and promotional aspects of Kids’ Camp, as well as with enlisting volunteers, registering participants and following up with visiting families. This is ideal for individuals who might not be available to volunteer during the week of Kids’ Camp since these activities occur before and after Kids’ Camp week.
A friendly face can go a long way when you’re visiting a church for the first time, or even coming back after a hard week. Our greeters are the first people that visitors and members see when coming to Providence on a Sunday morning. If you are a people person, may be an excellent fit for you!
The security of our Church family and all visitors who worship with us is of the upmost importance to us. The Security Service team will have the responsibility to secure all appropriate entrance and exits doors at the appropriate time of the worship services, as well as patrolling the parking lot to insure safety on our campus.
If you love technology and/or production work, our Sound and Video Team is perfect for you. Team members serve on a rotating basis either running the sound board or slides on the computer. This team is an important part of our Sunday worship services.
This ministry gives team members the opportunity to help with candidates for baptism during Sunday services as needed. Responsibilities include filling the baptistery and washing robes after baptism.
During the difficult time of a loved one’s passing, the Bereavement Team ministers to families by providing, if requested, a meal for the family on the day of the funeral.
Do you love teenagers? If you have a passion for teens and helping them grow in their faith, our middle and high school ministries is where you need to be! Volunteers are always welcome for special events such as DNow, mission trips, etc.
College students need people in their lives who can help guide them through the rapidly changing world of early adulthood. Team members will develop relationships with college students in the Providence family, and have opportunities for serving through teaching and leading small groups.
If you love to sing, our Adult Choir is for you. There are no auditions, just come to a Wednesday evening rehearsal.
