SAM Missions Ministries
At Providence, we believe that serving others is a Christian calling that is not age-bounded. Our senior saints are delighted to serve in the following ways, and invite you to get involved, too!
- Backpack packing and distribution — Every week we fill and distribute backpacks filled with food to children in need at five of our local elementary schools.
- 2nd Tuesday food collection — On the second Tuesday of every month, we collect food items to help stock the pantry shelves of the Harrisburg Crisis Assistance Ministries.
- Meals in Jesus' Name — We supply meals to shut-ins and those coming out of hospital stays.
- Personal hygiene item collection — Our senior adults collect personal hygiene items (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.) which are then distributed to the Salvation Army as well as to local battered women and children's shelters.
- Card ministry — Who doesn't enjoy receiving an encouraging and unexpected card in the mail?
